Since its early days as a center for teacher training in the 1880s, Black Hills State
University has overcome challenges and ascended to new heights. Now a comprehensive
institution offering more than 70 degree programs across the liberal arts and sciences,
education, and business, ºÚÁÏÍø is again poised to climb new peaks. We strive to engage
and support new generations of students, to prepare our graduates to make a difference
in the world through rich academic experiences, to hire and retain outstanding, thriving
employees, and to convey our compelling stories through thoughtful, effective outreach.
With a deep respect for its origins and with an ever-greater commitment to meeting
the economic and civic demands of the 21st century, the ºÚÁÏÍø community has created
this new strategic plan.
